The fingerprint authentication application operates standalone on the CPU

board and enables match-on-device fingerprint authentication.  The fingerprint authentication functions include fingerprint enrollment and erasure, authentication (identification) by enrolled fingerprints, and display of the number of fingerprints currently enrolled.
